Railway graffiti tags and a view of the Shard from last November.

Back to my roots. Like the claws of some fantasy creature. A tree in Yaiza, Lanzarote.

A couple of shots here at “The Stratified City” in Lanzarote. (Antigua rofera de Teseguite.) These very soft, ever-changing wind-corroded lava shapes are fascinating. Apologies for the contrast fringing on the mono version on here.

I just developed another image I’d forgotten from a recent batch taken on Victoria Pier, Hull. This one an HDR blend of two shots.

Come on, you know it’s The Minerva pub overlooking the Humber.

The C4DI building at The Dock in Hull is always good for a bit of architecture photography. Here’s a couple I’ve not done before - the approach to it and an upshot of the corner. This is, of course, prior to an obligatory coffee and bacon butty at Nibble.

A mono reworking extravaganza of the Humber Bridge. 3 hand held auto-bracketed shots from my XT-2 merged in AuroraHDR then Denoised and Sharpened in Topaz, and converted with Nik Silver Efex.

Evening, and the tide was out on the River Kent at the northern end of Morecambe Bay at Arnside.

I’ve never found the railway viaduct over the River Kent at Arnside, Cumbria, particularly photogenic. But recently at dusk this was the best I’ve seen it.

Focal point. The lines of Princes Quay and the dock just lead me to the Dock Office building (Maritime Museum).

The evening light at Arnside in Cumbria plays on these northern mudbanks at the edge of Morecambe Bay.

Talking of Princes Quay, I still like this one taken on a stroll in Hull about a year ago. Looking majestic in harsh afternoon light.

It’s difficult not to step out of Princes Quay and take a shot or two.

Images of the Voyage statue by the River Humber. Designed by Steinunn Thorarinsdottir and paired with a twin in Iceland, they form a tribute to the seafaring and trading bond between Hull and Iceland over the last 1000 years.
